We all know that Nail Polish Remover is used to remove nail polish from fingernails. But very few of us might know that this beauty product can also be used around the house for some quick and easy cleanups. Acetone based Nail Polish Remover is a colorless solution with some strong smell and it is highly inflammable. Acetone is a powerful solvent that removes nail polish quickly and easily, but it can be drying to the cuticles. This acetone based beauty product has plenty of uses from thinning your nail polish, cleaning your keyboard, wiping that super glue off, cleaning your beauty tools. Even cleaning that ink stains off your shirt becomes easy with this wonderful solution. Let’s see some of the amazing uses of Nail Polish Remover.

Clean your Chinaware


Stubborn stains of tea and coffee are hard to be removed with just soap and water. To get the shine back of your cups and plates, take a wet cloth and dip it in a small amount of diluted nail polish remover, and rub on the stains until the stain vanishes.

Clear ink and permanent marker stains


It might be hard to clean your child’s school uniform or your white shirt stained with ink, some are washable but some stains are not. Nail polish remover helps to clean such stains from the fabric. Soak a cotton ball with some nail polish remover and gently rub it on the stain. The ink stain should come out on the cotton ball. Rinse the fabric with water and wash as normal.

For permanent marker stains, soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover and dab on the mark to dissolve the stain away from your skin or wall. Wipe it clean.

Clean your patent leather shoes


After few uses, you patent leather shoes might start to look old and not shiny, pour few drops of nail remover on a cotton ball and rub on your shoes. Wipe it dry. All dirt will be cleaned and your shoes will shine out.

Remove scratch marks from plastic watch


Nail polish remover contains acetone, which can dissolve plastic at some level. So any plastic watch which has scratches on it can be cleared by rubbing nail polish remover on it. This will dissolve the surface around the scratch and smoothen it. Take few drops of remover on the cotton cloth and gently rub on the affected area. But don’t rub it too hard or else you will end up making a hole in the plastic.

Dissolve the super glue


If you have super glued your fingers, then take few drops of nail polish remover on a cotton ball and rub over your glued fingers. And in some time the super glue will dissolve and your fingers or skin will be free.

Remove dirt from your keyboard


The keyboard usually carries dust in the key edges which are hard to be removed. This can be easily removed using few drops of nail polish remover. Take an old toothbrush or a cotton swab,  put few drops of remover on it. Clean the edges with the brush, all dust and dirt would be cleared out.

Clean the bathtub


If you got a dirty bathtub ring or stubborn soap scum, try diluting nail polish remover with a little bit of water and clean the tub with a stiff brush. The dirt should scrub away easily.

Dilute whitener/ correction fluid


Whitener, used by children gets easily clogged up when the cap is not closed properly. In this case, pour few drops of nail polish remover in the bottle and shake well. This will give proper consistency to whitener. If you accidentally stain your fingers with whitener, wipe it clean with a cotton ball with few drops of nail polish remover on it.

Clean the scuff marks from the floor


Scuff marks on the vinyl floor and tile can be easily cleaned by just dabbing some nail polish remover on a cotton ball or tissue and rubbing it over the mark. Then clean with some floor cleaner and let it dry.

Clean beauty tools and shaving razor


Clean and sanitize your beauty tools like shaving razors, nail clippers, tweezers and other metal tools by soaking in nail polish remover. Then clean the tools in soapy water and wipe it dry with a hand towel or a tissue.
