Yay!!! My blog is six months today and I am super excited about it. It’s been a wonderful journey from lows to high. I saw a dream and worked hard to fulfill it. I can’t say that I have achieved whatever I dreamt of, but I would definitely say that each tiny step towards my dream gives me the strength and courage to work for it. Each day has been a new learning experience for me and still, I have miles to go. My family, friends, and my dear readers keep me motivated to write and share my thoughts and feelings, my knowledge, ideas, and stories.

When I started blogging, the only thing I knew, was, writing. It was hard for me to understand the tips and tricks of blogging. But over the time I have managed to learn a lot. So, on completing six months of blogging, I am sharing some advice to new bloggers, which I have been following since I started blogging.

Advice to New Bloggers

Write down your ideas: Before I started writing on my blog, I actually wrote into my journal. Any ideas that came up to my mind I noted it down whether it was for the post or the post itself, I noted into my journal. And later I started using my computer for it. Ideas can strike at any time of the day and if not grabbed, it might fly away.

Make time for your blog: Blogging is my hobby, my passion. Being a mommy and a full-time homemaker, it becomes really hard to spare some time for my blog. But as the famous proverb says “Where there’s a will, there’s a way,”  I try and find some time between my daily chores to work on my blog. Whether it’s a hobby or a full-time job, you need to give your time. Make it your priority and use your time wisely. I am sure everyone has some time of their day which could be used to work on their blogs.

Keep yourself motivated: Everything takes its own time to build. So be patient. Don’t get frustrated if you don’t see many subscribers/ followers or clicks on your blogs. Keep yourself motivated by reading other bloggers post and ideas on how to grow your blog. When you put your efforts and hard work, then surely you may get good results. Never lose hope when your results are fewer. Instead, keep trying and follow your dreams.

Know your readers: Knowing your readers helps you create your niche or your blog contents. You could ask your readers through a quick survey about your next blog post and then write it down. One other way is to focus on the articles which are helpful in some way to the readers and which inspires and motivates them. They always want something new and interesting to read.

Be active on social media: Engage with your readers and fellow bloggers through social media. Do not try to master all the social media’s at once, instead go one by one. Connect with other bloggers group that can help you get some traffic to your blog. These groups are good at problem-solving and they do like to read other blogs. But remember to be generous and show some courtesy towards them. Liking, sharing or retweeting other bloggers post wouldn’t harm your blog in any way.

Be Consistent: Consistency is one of the important aspects of blogging. Readers would like to know when your next post is out. But if you keep your readers wait for too long, they are less likely to come back and lose interest in your blog. Each one of us gets busy with family, work, friends, etc., which makes it more difficult to blog consistently. So, a little bit of planning can be really helpful. Brainstorm all the ideas and list of posts that comes to your mind. Whenever you have extra time, work and write down your blog posts. Once your articles are written, you can proofread them. Whether you are posting once a day, once a week, or once a month, that really doesn’t matter, what matters is to be consistent when posting on your blog.

“Success in Life comes when you simply refuse to give up, with goals so strong that obstacles, failure, and loss only act as motivation.”

It’s been a great journey so far with all the wonderful readers and bloggers around the world. And I hope to write more and more into the coming months. A big Thank You from the bottom of my heart. I would love to hear some of your tips and tricks for blogging. Please do comment below.

Happy Blogging !!!
