Salwar kameez

It is a traditional outfit worn by many womens in India. The Salwar Kameez is a dress wore with three items and that is Salwar which comes at the bottom, Kameez which comes on the top and Duppatta worn as a scarf.

The salwar kameez is the traditional attire of women in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal pradesh and is called the Punjabi suit which is most common in the northwestern part of India. Salwaar kameez is a stitched with any kind of fabric. It can be of silk, georgette, cotton, chiffon etc.

Salwar kameez is a dressing style worn from the past Pre Mughal Era. Traditional Salwar kameez set was invented in Punjab. Presently it is the most comfortable outfit almost worn all over India.The Punjabi suit also includes the “Churidaar” and “Kurta” ensemble which is also popular in Southern India where it is known as the “Churidaar”.

Churidaar

Churidaar is a bottom wear which is loose above the knees and tightly fitted to the calf below. While the Salwar is baggy and caught in at the ankle. The Churidaar fits below the knees with horizontal gathers near the ankles. The Churidaar can be worn with long Kurta, which goes below the knees, or as part of the Anarkali suit.

Anarkali Suit

The anarkali suit is made up of a long, frock-style top and features a slim fitted bottom. The anarkali is an extremely desirable style that is adorned by many women. The anarkali suit varies in many different lengths and embroideries including floor length anarkali styles. Many women will prefer heavy embroidered anarkali suits on wedding functions and events. Indian women wear anarkali suits on various occasions as well such as traditional festivals, casual lunch, anniversary celebrations etc. The kameez of the anarkali can be sleevelesss or with sleeves ranging from cap- to wrist-length.

Patiala Suit

In Patiala Suit , a patiala salwaar is a type of female trousers which has its roots in Patiala City in Northern region of Punjab state in India. In this type of suit, trouser is very baggy and pleated. The salwaar is teamed with a Kurti or Kameez, and is marked by multiple pleats on it. Patiala Salwaar is a popular outfit.
