The warmth of the sunshine and cooler nights, those earthy smell of the woods and the changing color of the leaves, it is the season of pumpkins and pies. Fall is the season that blossoms the beauty of nature. It brings the beautiful radiant glory of gold, yellow, red, and orange. But right after fall, the days become shorter as winter approaches and night gets colder. The changing season brings in the rain, gusty winds, and even snow. Are you prepared for the upcoming winter yet? If not, then check out our 5 Essential Winter Accessories to keep you comfy and cozy yet stylish and trendy.

Coats: Coats are a must when you step out of your house or workplace. You never know when it’s too windy and chilly. During the in-between seasons, the weather is bearable and you just need a light coat like a trench coat. Trench coats are great for rainy days and fall weather.  Pea coats are usually made of wool and are thigh length. If you are looking for a classic and versatile coat, then pea coat can be the best choice as it can be worn during fall, winter, and then in spring. Other coats that are trendy these days are fur and faux fur coats. Furs are super soft when you touch it & faux (fake) furs are rough and synthetic on touch.  Fur coats are great with evening dresses. A finely crafted Wool coat is super warm and water resistant, whereas quilted and puffer jackets are lightweight jackets filled with synthetic fibers that are usually up to the waist. This jacket gives a high level of warmth and withstands rain, cold, and snow. And if you are looking for a longer coat, thigh length or even longer, that is well-insulated and waterproof and has a hood to cover your head then you can get a parka.

Scarves: Scarves are one of my favorite fall accessories as they come in a variety of styles, patterns, and colors for all your looks. You can always pair it with jeans and a t-shirt or an evening dress.  They go so well with almost any attire. They come in a variety of fabrics from thin to thick. You can choose from silk, satin, cotton, chiffon, linen, wool, cashmere, or just blanket scarves for your fall and winter fashion. When it gets cold out there, wrap your thick scarf around your shoulders like a poncho. You can also wrap it around your neck with a loose knot, or just wear it like a stole. These scarves will give you warmth around your neck and will make you look so graceful.

Hats: Hats are a great way to showcase your style as well as protect your head from the cool breeze once the season changes. These hats are always on trend no matter which the season, the only thing that matters is the material of which it’s made. Summer hats are more of cooler fabric and bamboo, whereas autumn or winter hats such as the vintage style are made of warmer fabric such as fur, wool, and fleece. Then there are weatherproof hats that protect from rain and are warm from inside. Hats can be paired with any kind of outfit whether it is formal, casual, or party dress. Some also like wearing Beanies which are great when it’s too cold as they are made with warmer fabrics like woolen and cashmere.

Boots: Boots are footwear that covers the foot and the lower legs to protect them from the harsh winter weather like rain and snow. They are great for keeping your legs warm which regular shoes cannot do, and makes you look more classy and stylish. Initially, boots were made up of leather and rubber, but now plastic, suede, and other materials are used. Boots come in different styles and sizes to suit your needs. You can choose from ankle boots, mid-calf boots, high heel boots, knee high boots, over knee boots, flat boots, and ugg boots. There are special snow boots that 100% waterproof and has extended height that helps you to roam around in deep snow. These boots are really warm. Always choose a pair of boot that is comfortable to your feet.

Gloves and Mittens: When it gets too cold and the temperature goes really low, you need a good pair of gloves to help your fingers from freezing. Winter gloves are usually made of wool, cashmere, and leather to keep your hands warm. Gloves have a separate opening for each finger and thumb, unlike Mittens. Mittens do not have separate openings for each finger but they cover the entire hand. They are warmer than gloves as the fingers in the mittens connect with each other which generate the heat and keep them warm. They are well insulated and waterproof and make an excellent choice when you want to enjoy winter activities like skiing, snowboarding, and mountain hiking in frigid temperatures. Nowadays, touch screen supported Gloves and Mittens are in great demand due to the evolving use of smartphones and tablets by users. There are heated gloves and mittens that use rechargeable lithium batteries to increase warmth on the coldest days. These gloves are heavier and expensive.

So what are you waiting for? Add these essential winter accessories to your wardrobe and stay warm this winter.
