Yosemite is recognized for its mountains, waterfalls, lakes, granite cliffs, giant sequoia trees, and clear water streams. Yosemite National Park is located in the Central Sierra Nevada of California, United States. People from all over the world come to visit this beautiful and scenic place. Last year for the first time in its history, the park set an astonishing record of surpassing 5 million visitors. This park covers 747,956 acres of land. It’s a great place for hikers, campers, and nature lovers.

Every summer we visit Yosemite, just to see the beauty of Mother Nature. Thanks to the sufficient rainfall this year, we were delighted to see the beautiful and stunning waterfalls and the lush greenery throughout the valley.

Taking the world into my arms

The unusual rock creation at El Capitan which is a massive granite monolith stands 3593 feet from base to its peak. It is one of the most popular rock climbing destinations. It is accessible year round and has wide range of climbing routes.

The beautiful Yosemite Falls is highest waterfall in Yosemite National Park, with a height of 2,425 feet from the upper falls to lower falls. The lower Yosemite falls is easily accessible near the Yosemite lodge in Yosemite Valley and the top of the upper falls can be reached with a steep hike of 3.6 miles.

Glacier Point is located at an elevation of 7214 feet above the Yosemite Valley. This viewpoint offers amazing views to Half Dome, Yosemite Valley, Yosemite Falls, Vernal falls, and Nevada Falls. The Mariposa Grove, the Tuolumne Grove, and the Merced Grove are the three groves in the park famous for its ancient giant sequoia trees.

Beautiful Yosemite Valley!

Yosemite suffers wild fires every summer. The South Fork Fire near the Merced River has destroyed around 3473 acres. Parts of Wawona are under mandatory evacuation. The Mariposa Grove is under the risk of fire. It is closed till year end due to some restoration project. Wild animals like black bear, coyotes, and mule deer can also be seen in the valley. Kids and adults can also visit the Yosemite Art Centre, Yosemite Museum, or go to the theatre. Whether you visit the valley by car, bike, foot or tour, you will have some lovely memories to cherish for lifetime.
