Gastric Pain: Symptoms, Causes and Treatment.

Gastric pain is one condition which is experienced by not only adults but also kids at least once in their lifetime. During pain it is not only hard to find the exact location but also difficult to know the cause of stomach pain. Some pain are bearable and other gets more severe with time. Causes of Gastric Pain:

Gastric pain may occur anywhere in the upper abdominal region. The severity of the pain indicates the seriousness of the condition.

Even minor causes such as stomach bloating or stomach upset or distention can show the result in severe pain. At sometimes the severe pain starts and ends in a sudden moment that manner of pain may cause by gallstones or kidney stones. The type of pain which you experience will help your doctor to make a diagnosis of the underlying cause.

The symptoms that follow gastric pain are acid indigestion, heartburn, stomach bloating or abdominal distention along with the kind of pain. At which place the pain was coming – pain occurs at the lower right side of the stomach that is maybe an appendicitis pain while pain in the lower left side of the stomach may be the cause of diverticulitis.

Pain at the upper right of the stomach it may be a result of a gallbladder disorder. So based the location of the pain we can estimate the problem.

The pattern of pain – a constant pain which typically lasts for up to several hours it may due to the presence of gallstones. Severe pain which does not let up and the pain are from the upper side of the abdomen to upper back it may result in pancreatitis. A cramp-like pain which occurs in waves may be indicative of the intestinal problem such as blockage and intestine.


Gastric pain can be minimized by eating easily digestible diet and drinking lots of fluids. While you want to avoid symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea you better to eat the food which you are comfortable with. Follow your doctor’s prescription along with prescribed diet.

You can also cure with some home remedies those are:

  • Drinking plenty of water.
  • Drinking herbal teas.
  • Lemon juice with harm water should be had first thing in the morning.
  • Drink a glass of water with a little bit of baking soda it gives you the instant relief.
  • Coconut water is also very beneficial.
  • Stay away from meat, pepper, sour foods, alcohol, strong teas, and coffee.
