Just a few days before Valentine’s Day, a new song “Manikya Malaraya Poovi” from this movie was released on YouTube starring the debutant Priya Prakash Varrier and her co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof. The movie is a romantic comedy which narrates the love story of four high school students and is directed by Omar Lulu.
A short trailer from the song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ was launched online on February 9th, and right before Valentine’s Day, it collected around 10 million views on YouTube. The actress moves her eyes up and down and winks. She smiles in the song and these expressions of her are liked and appreciated by the admirers. Since then the song went viral all over the internet. In just a short clip of about 30 seconds, Priya is seen flirting with his co-star Roshan with some very cute eye expressions, smile, and she then winks. They are claiming that the lyrics of the song allegedly hurt the religious sentiments. They have filed an FIR against the makers of the film and have demanded to change the lyrics or remove the song from the movie. Also a Hyderabad based Islamic seminary -JamiaNizamia seminary issued fatwa for the removal of song. This song is in fact is a very popular old Mappila folk song, which celebrates the marriage of the Prophet and his first wife Khadeeja.
