Winter Skin Care Routine – Be Your Own Beautician

Beauty needs care to glow and shine bright in thousands. Make up is a part to beautify the body but nothing can compete with originality. Earlier when there was no beauty salon and no skin caring beauty products women used natural things like sandalwood powder, earthen clay, turmeric powder, milk, cream, etc to glorify their skin. Now we have all different products but we lack of time. In this modern race we put our self back and only run after the goals of the life where we neglect caring our self, our health, and our skin.

Nothing to worry about just “Be your Own Beautician”. First understand the skin type as skin is the most sensitive part of the body. We sometimes ignore it by not giving extra care but if we want smooth and flawless skin then we should give some of our time and care for it. All of us are aware that our skin is affected by the change of climate, excess heat, wind, and dirt. Additionally hormonal changes, illness, unsound sleep, stress, poor diet, unscheduled life everything affects our skin. So we need to care our skin on daily basis and should spend some time to maintain our skin as soft and supple.

Now, the coldest season winter is just around, so it’s time to protect our skin from dryness, wrinkles, freckles, and cracks by maintaining certain hydration to the skin. First, schedule the day into two parts for skin care routine. One is Day time routine and the other is Night time routine for face.

Day Time Routine:

From morning to evening our skin has to tolerate sun strokes, dusty wind, chilling air condition, climate change etc. which may lead skin to get dry and dehydrated so follow this steps to moisten your skin.

Step 1: Choose a mild face wash or soap of your choice. Mild is nothing but contains fewer chemicals and won’t irritate the skin much. Now gently rub it on the skin in circular motions and don’t be too harsh because it leads to break downs on the face. Then wash it off with normal water.

Step 2: After cleaning the face with mild soap, the second important step is toning which helps in closing the pores and provides even tone to the skin. Of all the toners, the best and affordable toner we have is rose water. Now spray little amount of rose water on your face and dab it lightly until it is observed and leave it.

Step 3: Then the third step is moisturizing the skin which is the foremost step to keep the skin hydrated. The best moisturizer which can be affordable by everyone is Aloe Vera gel. Take a little amount of Aloe Vera gel and massage it into your skin and then leave it.

Step 4: Now after applying Aloe Vera gel take a sunscreen lotion of your choice with good SPF and apply it on your face 20 minutes before stepping out in the sun.

Step 5: Lips are also part of the face which is so sensitive in nature. So, we have to maintain it as well by applying the lip balm that contains SPF.

Night Time Routine:

After full day tiredness the skin gets dull and to moisten it again night treatment should be given before going to bed.

Step 1: At the end of the day after returning home, the first thing we have to do is to clean the makeup on face. So the best makeup remover is again the nature gifted rose water. Dip a cotton ball into the rose water and clean the face until there are no traces of makeup.

Step 2: The next step after removing makeup is again moisturizing. So, take a thick cream then apply it on the face and leave it overnight. Then Wash it off the next morning.

Step 3: Also before going to bed apply a thick layer of lip balm on the lips and leave it on.

Step 4: During winter our skin becomes dry and itchy and it effects more on eyes so that it turns into puffy. Due to puffiness, the area around the eye gets wrinkles and freckles. So moisturizing the eyes is also an important thing in the skincare routine. Now, take 4-5 drops of almond oil or vitamin E oil and massage around the eyes for 50-60 seconds and then leave it on. Almond oil not only reduces wrinkles and puffiness but also reduces the dark circles. This skin care routine prevents your face from dryness.

Now, let’s go through some tips to take care of your body too. In ancient times, there was a tradition to massage the body with coconut oil during festivals. Now this tradition is in used because of its wonderful benefits. Massaging this oil on body keeps the skin hydrated and also increases blood circulation.

Before going to bath, take some amount of coconut oil, pour it into your hands and gently massage on your whole body for 10-15 minutes. After then take a hot shower which results in softer skin. Do this once in a week to get better results. To make it simple we can do it in another way. Pour 4 to 5 drops of coconut oil or olive oil in bath water and take a shower which too results in a smoother skin.

Another important tip is to make a habit of using glycerin soap in winter as they supply moisture to the skin and keeps the skin healthy. Other than this, keeping your body hydrated by drinking enough water is the most important thing which is always prescribed by a doctor. People drink more amount of water during summer but they don’t feel likewise in winter. Better to drink adequate amount of warm water during winter which keeps the skin moist as well as keeps you healthy.
