Gujarat is quiet famous for its dynamic traditions of classical and folk music. The traditional dance and music form of Gujarati’s are world famous and an attraction of tourists. Garba, garbi, Raas and others are very famous form of traditional dance. The different type of folk song includes lullabies, nuptial songs, festive songs, Rannade songs and bhajans. Among the folk Music, Duha, Sorathaa, chaand, Belaads, etc are traditionally performed in Saurashtra of Gujarat.

Gujarat is rich enough in having classical instruments like:

Wind instrument

  • Bungal
  • Pava

String instrument

  • Ravan Hattho
  • Ektaro
  • Jantar/li>

Percussion instrument

  • Manjira
  • Zanz pot drum

Communities like Charan and Gadhvis are some of the Communities who has a great deal done to preserve the tradition of folk music of Gujarat in its pure form from itself.

  • Kesarya rang tane lagyo’ from album ‘Mijlas’
  • Rudine Rangeeli’ from album ‘Coke studio 3’

The very famous well directed and choreographed is ‘Nimbooda’ from the movie ‘Hum dil de chuke sanam’,
One of the recent addition was ‘Shubhaarambh’ from the album ‘Kai po che’   most popular one is ‘Mor bani thanghat kare’ from the album ‘Ramleela’.
This are some of the hit numbers of bollywood having feel of Gujarati folk’s but it is great to listen it in its original form.
